What is our story - Why do we exist?

 

First and foremost, the Place in the Desert exists to serve God by serving the people of our world. First our community, then our nation, and then the utermost parts of the world. We began with a very specific vision of becoming a doorway to the nations, raising up new believers and reaching the unchurched and preparing them to do short term missions to help other nations. We would be built from the unsaved and the unchurched and to do so meant we must reach out to our community to reach those who needed to connect to Jesus.

 

We exist in the upper desert of Southern California, made up of believers from Apple Valley, Hesperia,  Victorville and surrounding communities. We meet in a place centrally located to the area.

 

We have done missions in many parts of Africa and are looking toward Mexico, Central and South America.

 

We are fundamental in our beliefs. We believe the bible to be the inspired word of God and infallible in its content.

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;
